this just in 03/31/2009

I was just sent this photo of a crib set I recently finished.  I can't take credit for the lovely wall hangings, but the crib set is divine!  The skirt is Ralph Lauren, the bumper is from carousel (inside is large dot chenille).

Unique, chic and gorgeous!  Thanks for the pic mama!

After 2 years of waiting and preparing, Jahred was accepted into a BSN nursing program.  The program only takes 16 students into an intense 15 months of clinical study.  Upon completion, he will have his RN, BSN.

We are so elated with his acceptance, but this means lots of changes for our family.  We will be moving into a more affordable housing situation, and once again, in transition as he works through the program.

In celebration I am raising tuition money by having a HUGE SALE.

On ARTFIRE, pieces are 20% off...still waiting for my first sales from there.

ETSY HAS HUGE MARKDOWNS!  All pieces are OOAK and are ALL on SALE!

Take advantage of these low prices...I don't want to move all this merchandise!

You are gonna LOVE this new handmAde site!

Lots of new and different vendors with top quality hAndmade goods.

I had to start a shop:
JLStephensCouture

Check it out!  Of course my products will still be featured on the lovely Etsy...but this is just one more venue to spread the word about my Mom-Made pieces.

Adios!

Just flew in from a week in Lady Lake, Florida!

Axel and I were soaking in the sun with family for a week of desserts, lunch with the ladies and or course the POOL!

I'm certain that Axel grew exponentially during our week away.  Not sure if it was the sun or Nana and Papas home cooking.  Either way, he had a great week!

While we were gone, Jahred managed the shop.  It seems he did a fantastic job (considering the 30 second, over the phone training session).  If any of you are missing a piece of your order, kindly let me know.  If not, leave great feedback for him!

Always on the look out for fellow artists, we met an awesome go-getter who creates the most wonderful wooden puzzles I have ever seen.  Here is a link to her web page.  I wish you could meet her in person...an artist with functional talent!  Axel is the proud owner of the beginner puppies puzzle and is almost ready to do it on his own!  PUZZLES!

Here are a couple pics of Axel in his "Retirement Village" glory.

Will blog soon with shop updates and exciting new Spring Sale announcement.

its biological 03/14/2009

Trying to find my fit with the fashion world, I decided to take it back to my roots.  Good old Cell Biology.

It was during those years of microscope addiction that I realized beauty in design.

It's Biological is a line of bags dedicated to the brown nosers, the science geeks and the mysterious chic among us!

Here is Mitochondria.  The first organelle to be featured on one of my bags.

If you are new to Mitochondria yourself, google them.  I'm sure you will find them amazing.

Finally finding purpose for the many antique textiles I have collected, I will only let these go to a loving home.  All bags are OOAK and when they're gone, they're gone.  These are actual vintage or antique materials and supplies are limited.

Enjoy.
